Making life a tad easier..

I had my work looked at by an industry professional yesterday. It wasn't as embarrassing showing my work as I thought it would be, and it was really helpful and reassuring to know that my 3D work is promising, now I just have to do the same for Visual Studies somehow....
On my 3D model I was told that I should make the vertices flow upwards following the bend of the hip and leg. This would make rigging the cloth to the leg a lot easier since it would bend along with the leg rather than fold in on itself and clip. So I'm moving all the verts at the front upwards and falling at the back.
I need to work on the hands and knuckles on them, before collapsing the symmetry modifier, remembering to delete some of the loops so that it fits with the amount of loops the arm has, which also saves on the tri count since I'm already a tad over (not by 2,000 I swear..) as long as I don't create triangles in the parts of the hand that will be rigged.
But talking to Del Walker was a lot of help and reassurance as to what I'm doing right now. I definitely have a long way to go, especially with learning my fundamentals in value and colour studies of painting and drawing, but it was very motivating, I'll just have to keep working harder than some other students.
